As a dynamic visionary, an affirmed apostle, and appointed bishop, Raymond Leroy Otey, Sr. promotes unity in the body of Christ by establishing order and encouraging reform.

On February 22nd 1963, Bishop Raymond Leroy Otey, Sr. was born in Spotsylvania to Mrs. Vivian and Deacon Richard Alvin Otey. In 1984, he married the former Lawana A. King of Burkburnett, Texas and is blessed with four talented and anointed children – Raymond, Willie, Jamie and Joan and 9 grandchildren. Bishop Otey received his license to preach the gospel in November of 1982 and was ordained in June of 1984.

In February of 1992, Bishop Otey was installed as the Senior Pastor of Mount Calvary Baptist Church and, in 2004, Mount Calvary Baptist Church became Mount Calvary Church International, Inc. Ministries formed and flourished as he taught biblically-based, life changing perspectives concerning church leadership, ministry, and the Great Commission. To date, he has over 20 ministers and ordained elders under his leadership.

In February of 2001, Bishop Larry D. Trotter of the Sweet Holy Spirit Church in Chicago, Illinois officially declared Bishop Otey as one of his newest sons. He was affirmed as an Apostle by Bishop Trotter on June 10th, 2004 and appointed as a bishop in March 2007. Bishop Otey served as an overseer in the United Covenant Churches of Christ (UCCC). He has numerous ministerial certifications including his Bachelors of Theology and Masters of Pastoral Studies degree. Because of his willingness to provide pastoral guidance and wise counsel to those in need, several pastors look to Bishop Otey as a spiritual father.

In July of 2018, Bishop Otey was appointed Archbishop-Elect by Archbishop D. Myles Golphin on behalf of the Ecumenical Patriarchal Office of the Global Conference of Bishops. He will be recognized as one of the metropolitans to be placed in the International House of Bishops of the Global conference of Bishops upon his enthronement.
